Artwork Packaging
I wanted to share some details on the kind of materials that I have been using for packaging my paintings for shipment. As part of my commitment to making eco friendly choices, I use materials that are either biodegradable, recyclable and/or re usable.
The artwork is first wrapped in a biodegradable tissue paper. I then use a biodegradable jute twine along with a bespoke kraft paper tag to secure it. Cardboard and brown paper are added on top of it for further protection, both of which can either be recycled or used again for your own packaging! In order to protect the edges of the canvas from any sort of damage during transit, I use edge protectors (blue foam in image below) that are recyclable as well.
I then cover it with bubble wrap/paper alternative for larger paintings if required. As far as I am aware, bubble wraps can be recycled along with other carrier bags in larger recycling centres in the UK. I also use a foam board which is biodegradable for giving it one more layer of protection. This is then put in a cardboard packaging ready for delivery!
